Your retirement savings are a vital part of your future — but have you thought about what happens if the unexpected occurs? You can’t leave them in your will, and as the Trustee, we decide who receives any lump sum if you die.
That’s why completing an Expression of Wish form is so important. It helps us understand your wishes and makes the process smoother for your loved ones during a difficult time. Without a completed form, we may need to investigate potential beneficiaries, which can lead to:
Your pension benefits going to individuals you might not have chosen.
Loved ones missing out if they aren’t obvious beneficiaries.
Delays in your benefits being paid out to those you care about most.
You have the power to nominate anyone, not just family members, and you can share your benefits among multiple people in any way you choose, as long as the total adds up to 100%.
How to make or update your Expression of Wish
Taking action is simple and you can update your Expression of Wish whenever your circumstances change – after a big life event, relationship change, or simply to ensure your wishes are current. You can do it in five simple steps:
Step 1
Log into OneView.
Step 2
Click ‘View details’ on your dashboard.
Step 3
Select ‘Beneficiaries’ from the menu near the top.
Step 4
Click ‘Add’ and fill in the form to nominate your beneficiaries. Remember, you can add more than one, and the total share must equal 100%.
Step 5
Click ‘Save’ twice to confirm your choices.
